It wicks moisture during tough uphill treks and keeps warmth in during windy pauses, letting the wearer stay focused on the journey rather than on changing layers.
Innovative Active Insulation
At the heart of the Switch Pros insulation is the Octayarn Warp-knit lining, a lightweight, moisture-wicking upgrade to traditional fleece.
Under close inspection, Octayarn is made of hollow fibres with eight tiny ‘teeth’ that increase surface area, trapping warm air and enhancing moisture-wicking, all while staying lightweight. Its as warm as thicker fibres but with half the weight and less bulk.
With its breathable knit design, Octayarn moves moisture quickly, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable during intense activity, especially when frequent layering isnt practical.
To maintain smooth movement, the Octayarn lining is reversed in the sleeves. This still provides warmth but prevents snagging on base layers and allows for easy movement when reaching or adjusting.
The outer fabric is lightweight and stretch-woven, providing wind resistance and water repellency without harmful chemicals. Pontetorto Tecnostretch fleece panels, sourced from an Italian mill, are placed strategically to improve fit, prevent overheating, and allow free movement. This ensures comfort and efficiency, even on challenging terrain.
